Kori Song
Kori Song is an illustrator and artist currently based in Hong Kong.
Born in Chongqing, China, drawing has been a passion of Kori’s since she was little. She studied at Sichuan Fine Art Institute, in Chongqing, and chose graphic design as her career path.
Following years working as a graphic designer in various parts of China, Kori moved to Hong Kong and began a new chapter in her life as an illustrator. In 2011 Kori joined Hong Kong Society of Illustrators to strengthen various skillss. Her first picture book, Cicada, was a winner in the Sun Hung Kai Properties Young Writers’ Debut Competition.
Kori loves illustrated books and creative picture books. She has pursued various creative projects and has been commissioned for projects including two picture books, The Swimmers and Found in Hong Kong.
Kori’s expressive and colourful illustrations reflect her interest in the relationship and connections between cities and those who live in them. Sometimes she draws randomly, with subjects such as scenery from memory, or favourite things from daily life. Continuously improving and innovating, Kori finds happiness within her drawings.
She also loves travelling and photography, and records her travels with her pen. Kori’s traveler series of illustrations were selected for inclusion in the book AAD Outstanding Illustration Artists in Asia.
